Bonnie J. Leng, 71, of Elkhart, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2011, in her home.
Bonnie was born May 1, 1940 in Mishawaka, a daughter of the late Joseph R. and Helen M. (Prokop) Burns. She grew up in Mishawaka and graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1958.
Bonnie lived in this area her entire life. She enjoyed bowling and playing euchre. Bonnie was always there to help her family when there was a need. They were truly the center of her life.
Bonnie married Guy D. Leng on February 20, 1993 in Mishawaka and he survives. Her other surviving family members include her four children, Bernice (Dave) Engesveen of South Bend, Donna (Chris) Hall of Edwardsburg, Joseph (Robin) Wedding of St. Cloud, Minnesota and George (Chrissy) Wedding of New London, Minnesota; two brothers, Thomas Burns of Sturgis, Michigan and Stephen (Bernadette) Burns of Mishawaka; and two sisters, Linda (Kenny) Kunz of Mishawaka and Marianne (William Southwick) Parker of Granger; 8 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.
Bonnie was preceded in death by a sister, Tamara Stackman.
Friends may spend time with Bonnie’s family Friday from 11 am - 1 pm in Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, 503 W. 3rd Street, Mishawaka.
Services honoring Bonnie’s life will be held Friday at 1 pm in the funeral home. Cremation will follow.
Memorials are suggested to the Center for Hospice Care. Assistance with memorials is available at the funeral home.
