Charles Henry Krueger was born May 24, 1936 in South Bend, Indiana. He was the son of the late Charles Henry Krueger and Eva Dorothy (Zimmerman) Krueger of Mishawaka, Indiana. He graduated from St. Joseph Grade School and Mishawaka High School in 1954. Chuck, as he was known to all, graduated from Indiana University in 1958 with a degree in Finance and was a member of Alpha Kappa Psi financial fraternity. His first job out of college was with the U.S. Treasury Department as a bank auditor which was interrupted by his draft into the U.S. Army which he served at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri.

Chuck was a hard-working man from childhood. He delivered the South Bend Tribune as a young boy, watered greens at Eberhart Golf Course in college, and later owned and carefully maintained real estate purchases. He was also a champion of under-served persons by providing them employment or reasonably priced housing or by simply contributing to his many favorite charities.
Chuck was a past president of Big Brothers/Big Sisters, helped the Mishawaka Knights of Columbus acquire and pay off their move to downtown Mishawaka, was active in Mishawaka Rotary and was a 39-year member of Mishawaka’s Board of Zoning Appeals. He was president of Hinges and Handles of Osceola, Indiana. He was a lifetime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mishawaka. His hobbies included coin and stamp collecting and golfing.
Chuck is survived by sons, Tom (Denise) and John (Camille); Tom’s daughter, Angela, and John’s son, Andrew; and Chuck’s good friend and mother of his children, Dorothy Krueger.
