Chloriece T. Gibson Profile Photo

The oldest resident of The Sanctuary of St. Paul’s finally had her wish to die on a beautiful day! (No snow for her.)

Chloriece was born in Webster County, Kentucky to Oscar and Mary (Price) Cavanah. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Otto Gibson, two brothers and her recently deceased son-in-law Lester Frick.

Surviving is her daughter, Betty R. Frick; 4 grandchildren, Susan (Charles) Lehman, Steven (Cheryl) Frick, Linda (Patric) Whitehead, Kathy (David) Handschu. Also surviving are 11 great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren. She often commented, “Look what I started with one daughter!”

Recie was always young for her age (note photo from her 100th birthday). She had an amazing sense of humor, was full of old sayings and surprising comments, as any caregiver at St. Paul’s will tell you.

Mrs. Gibson and her husband were well known home builders in the area for many years. She was an interior designer and decorator and held the position of State President of the Home Builders Association of Indiana Women’s Auxiliary.

Private services will be held. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the care of Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, Mishawaka.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Zion United Church of Christ, South Bend. Assistance with memorials is available through the funeral home.

An online guest book is available at www.goethalswells.com.
