He was born on April 1, 1947, to the late Dixie Wayne and Claire (Bleichroth) Lawrence in Melrose Park, IL. Daniel spent almost 20 years serving the public at Crate and Barrell, where he eventually married his lifelong friend from work, David Jordan on November 6, 2013, in Dunkirk, NY.
He survives along with their beloved family Brad (Mary) Jordan of South Bend, their children, Maggie, Sophia, and Jacob; Nieces, Jamie (Brandon) Lawrence-Bordner, their children, Cannon, Liam, and Adley; Johnnie Lawrence, with Benjamin and Claire; Rhonda Lawrence with Whitney, Jimmy, Joey, Rachel, and Nichole; and many other special cousins and extended family, including a dear friend, Katherine Galloy. He was proceeded in death by his brother, Steven Lawrence, and a special aunt, Lillian “Lil” Rodseth.
Daniel, a true connoisseur of life's finer pleasures, whose vibrant spirit was fueled by a love for theatre, music, and the arts both locally and in the greater Chicago area. Daniel cultivated a community of creativity and warmth, as he worked at the Windy City Performing Arts Center and was the proprietor of a cherished yarn shop in Chicago. His heart danced with joy at the magic of Disney and the spectacle of fireworks, while his adventurous soul sought out new experiences through travel all over the world. Daniel initiated the first inaugural Bleichroth reunion, uniting numerous cousins and their families, while also serving as a warm and welcoming host. Daniel's legacy is one of laughter, love, and the beauty found in every stitch of his beloved quilts. Though he may have left us, his spirit lives on in the cherished memories he leaves behind.
Per Daniel’s wishes, cremation has taken place with a celebration of a beautiful life lived to be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers and to honor Daniels memory, memorial contributions may be sent to the Musician Arts of Indiana, formerly Vesper Chorale or Cathedral School of St. Matthews Athletic Department.
