Danielle M. Schmidt

Danielle M. Schmidt, 49, of South Bend, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, November 11, 2020.

Danielle was born March 7, 1971 in South Bend to Lawrence and Sandra (Wolf) Dutoi. She grew up in South Bend and was a graduate of St. Joseph High School. She earned Bachelor’s Degrees from both Purdue University and IUSB.

Danielle married Richard “Rick” Schmidt on April 27, 1996 and he survives. Also surviving are her three sons, Logan, Owen and Carter Schmidt; her father, Lawrence “Larry” Dutoi; her sister, Debbie (Brad) Gauger; her mother-in-law, Barb (Bill) Schmidt; her father-in-law, Richard (Sandy) Schmidt; her sister-in-law, Shannan Schmidt; her brother-in-law, Kenneth (Alissa) Schmidt; her sister-in-law Stacey (Jeff) Lindsley; and her three nieces, Zoe Sharrock, Gabby Lindsley and Zoe Lindsley

Danielle was preceded in death by her son, Seth Schmidt and mother, Sandra “Sandy” Dutoi.

Danielle was a teacher at Harrison Elementary School in South Bend. She had a joy for life and learning that she brought to everything she did.  Family was the center of her life and she had a passion for history, music and reading. She was a loyal friend and believed strongly in many social issues.

The family is planning a Celebration of Danielle’s Life to be held in the Spring of 2021.
