Ernestine Marie Siders

Ernestine Marie Siders, 75, of Mishawaka, passed away at home on Friday, April 2, 2021.
Ernestine was born October 22, 1945 in LaPorte, to the late Stanley and Doris (Cook) Samys. She grew up in the Rolling Prairie/New Carlisle area and was a graduate of Rolling Prairie High School.
On June 7, 1964, Ernestine married Alan L. Siders. The couple made Mishawaka their home.
Ernestine was employed for many years as a kitchen supervisor with South Bend Work Release through the Department of Corrections. She enjoyed playing cards and dearly loved her dog, Bonnie.
Ernestine was preceded in death by her husband, Alan; a son, Tracy; and a sister, Judy Himes.
Ernestine is survived by two sons, Jeffrey (Patricia) Siders and Trevor Siders; six grandchildren, Amy, Dustin, Melissa, Chantal, Seth and Jeffrey, Jr; fifteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Caroline Bowen and Bridget Johnson; and a brother, Doran Samys.
Visitation will be from 5 – 8 pm Tuesday, April 6, in Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, 503 W. 3rd Street, Mishawaka.
Services will be held at 11 am Wednesday in the funeral home with Pastor Terry Parker officiating. Cremation will follow.
