Lewis Frederick “Fred” Stickovich, 69, of Granger, passed away after a long battle with cancer on Tuesday, April 26, 2016.

Fred was born April 4, 1947 in Mishawaka to Lewis and Goldie (Hemphill) Stickovich. He grew up in Osceola.

Fred is survived by his wife of 45 years, Laura “Jeanie” (Wilkins) Stickovich; four children, Lewis Frederick (Natasha) Stickovich, Jennifer (David) Ricks, Tiffany (Ryan) Desmond and Nick (Staci) Stickovich; five grandchildren, Sophia Ricks, Zoe Ricks, Jacob Desmond, Ava Desmond and Gavin Stickovich. He is also survived by his mother, Goldie Stickovich and a sister, Sharon Huys.

Fred was preceded in death by his father, Lewis Stickovich; and a sister, Nancy Stickovich.

Fred served his country in the United States Army. He worked for Otis Elevator Company for 49 years as General Operations Manager where he was known for his loyalty and strong work ethic. He was a dedicated son, husband, father and grandfather. He was an avid Notre Dame fan and car enthusiast. Fred was always there to help family and friends with whatever they needed.

Fred’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Bedoya and his nurses, Dorothy, Lisa and Charlotte.

Services honoring Fred’s life will be held at 11 am on Friday, April 29 in Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, 503 W. 3rd Street, Mishawaka, with Pastor Brian C. White officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.

Friends may spend time with the family from 5 - 8 pm Thursday in the funeral home.
