Herbert C. DeWulf, 80, of Mishawaka, passed away Monday, December 31, 2012, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Wakarusa.

Herb was born September 4, 1932 in Mishawaka, a son of the late Alphonse and Erma (DeVettre) DeWulf. He was a graduate of Mishawaka High School and attended tool and die school. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War.

Herb’s employment included C.T.S. in Elkhart and Ball Band and Dodge Manufacturing in Mishawaka. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club with C.T.S. and also belonged to the Cedar Road Missionary Church.

Herb was preceded in death by his first wife, Bonnie (Wandrei) DeWulf in 1966; two brothers, Robert and Albert DeWulf; and a sister, Yvonne Wozniak.

Herb married Juaneta June Beach in 1968 and she survives. Other surviving family members include six children, Randy (Barb) DeWulf of South Bend, Kenneth (Julie) DeWulf of Elkhart, Joseph Swald of Mishawaka, John Swald, Sr. of Elkhart, Ronald Swald of Lakeville and Kathleen (Bruce) Reidenbach of Osceola; fourteen grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren.

Services honoring Herb’s life will be held Saturday, January 5, at 11 am in Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, 503 W. 3rd Street, Mishawaka, with Pastor Jeff Truex officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Military honors will be provided by VFW 360 / American Legion 161 Burial Squad.

Visitation will from 10 - 11 am Saturday at the funeral home.
