Jane A. Dermott, 78, of South Bend, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2022 in Memorial Hospital.
Jane was born May 25, 1944 in Argos to the late James and Ruby (Streetman) Wallace. She grew up in Bremen and was a graduate of Bremen High School.
On June 18, 1966, Jane married Miller Dermott. They lived in Nappanee and Bremen before moving to South Bend in 2000.
Jane was an excellent seamstress. She put her sewing skills to work at T.J. Snuggles and Bornemann Products in Bremen. Jane was a meticulous housekeeper, a good cook and enjoyed playing the guitar. She attended Granger Community Church and was always an active church person throughout her life.
Jane’s surviving family includes her two children, Brent (Amy) Dermott and Brenda (Jason) Fischer; her twin brother, James (Shirley) Wallace; a sister, Elizabeth Spencer; five grandchildren, Faith (Patrick) Yates, Hope Dermott, Joy Dermott, Caleb Fischer and Chloe Fischer; and a great grandchild, Kenna Mae Yates.
Jane was preceded in death in 2018 by her husband of 52 years, Miller; and also five brothers, Charles Green, John Green, Frank Green, Pete Green and Richard Wallace.
Services honoring the life and faith of Jane Dermott will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, July 23, in Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, 503 W. 3rd Street, Mishawaka. Burial will follow in Bremen Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:00 am Saturday in the funeral home.
