Jean Ann (Bordner) Bruggeman

Jean Ann (Bordner) Bruggeman, age 91 of Elkhart, passed away on July 25, 2024, at Miller’s Merry Manor of Plymouth.  Jean was born October 12, 1932, in Mishawaka, Indiana. She was a graduate of Mishawaka High School, class of 1951. On May 4, 1957, Jean married Charles “Chuck” Bruggeman in Mishawaka and they celebrated nearly 52 years of marriage before his passing in April of 2009.

Surviving are her children Kathy Troiola of Mishawaka and Gary (Shannon) Bruggeman of Elkhart, her grandchildren Nick (Tabitha) Troiola, Tony (Jenny) Troiola, Kye Bruggeman and Kaylee (Luke) Davis and her great-grandchildren Marshall, Rolly, Vivienne, and Everette. She was preceded in death by her husband Chuck, her father Howard Bordner and her stepmother Mildred Bordner.

Services for Jean will be private.  Wells and Cruz Family Funeral Home of Mishawaka has been entrusted with her care.

She was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mishawaka. Jean loved spending time outdoors, enjoying the beauty of nature. Jean could be found walking the track at the Loftus Center on the campus of Notre Dame or playing a round of golf. She and her husband, Chuck, were founding members of the Mishawaka High School Alumni Association where they dedicated their time and energy to support its activities and goals.
