Jeffrey David Walsh, age 61 of South Bend, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2024. Jeff was born in South Bend on June 2, 1962, to the late John Harold and Rosemary Matilda (Humphrey) Walsh.
He is survived by his son, Collin (Sara) Walsh of South Bend, his grandchildren Paxton and Millie Walsh and his siblings Daniel J. Walsh of Arlington, Virginia, Mike (DelRae) Walsh, Patrick T. Walsh, and Susan A. (Nick) Bedricky, all of Granger, James (Julie) Walsh of Mishawaka and Mary Medich of South Bend. Surviving as well are his nieces and nephews, Sean, Ryan, and Corey Walsh, Courtney Walsh, Hannah Bedricky, Matthew (Kira) Walsh, Derek Krol and John and Kelsey Medich as well as 9 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Linda (Bobby) Krol.
Friends may gather 2 hours prior to the 1:00 pm Celebration of Life service on Monday, April 15, 2024, at Wells and Cruz (Formerly Goethals and Wells) Family Funeral Home in Mishawaka. Jeff will be laid to rest privately at a later date in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
Jeff dedicated over two decades of his life to the automotive sales division of Gurley Leep in Mishawaka, where his hard work and outgoing personality made him well loved by his co-workers and customers. His commitment to excellence led to his success with his clientele.
From his early years at South Side Little League, Jeff exhibited a great passion for sports, particularly baseball. His coaches fondly nicknamed him "Charlie Hustle" in homage to Pete Rose, a testament to Jeff's relentless drive and dedication on the field. Beyond baseball, Jeff's love for sports extended to bowling and Notre Dame Football, where he cheered passionately for his Fighting Irish.
Jeff possessed a remarkable talent for bringing joy to those around him through his infectious laughter, quick wit, and love of telling jokes. As the life of the party, Jeff made every gathering fun with his giant personality and ability to keep everyone laughing.
More than anything else, Jeff held a deep love for his family. His love for his son, grandchildren, and extended relatives knew no bounds, and he cherished every moment spent in their company.
