John B. Scheibelhut

John B. Scheibelhut, 74, of South Bend, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at home.
John was born April 5, 1946 in Mishawaka, to the late Aloysius and Katherine (O’Neil) Scheibelhut. He grew up in Mishawaka and was a graduate of St. Joseph High School in South Bend. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tri-State University.
John was employed for many years at Sibley’s in South Bend. He was a member of St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church in South Bend. He enjoyed vegetable gardening, stamp collecting and fishing.
John is survived by eight sisters, Patricia Bragg, Margaret (Tom) O’Connor, Catherine Hull, Joan Scheibelhut, Jane Scheibelhut, Mary Yadak, Jean Cook and Theresa (Steve) Hodgson; and many nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Friday, February 26, in St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church, 2320 E. Jefferson Blvd., South Bend, with Rev. Benjamin Muhlenkamp officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.
There is no visitation.
Face coverings are required at church.
Memorials are suggested to Center for Hospice Care.
