Judith “Judy” Rose Andrews, 82, of Mishawaka, entered heavenly rest at home on Thursday, March 28, 2024 surrounded by her family. She was born on October 16, 1941, to the late Edward A. and Dorothy M. (Mickels) Nicholas.

She is survived by her children, Deena (Gene) Heyse of South Bend, David (Jody) Andrews II of South Bend, Tracey Daggy of Mishawaka, and Sarah (Brian) Engel of Denver, CO; six grandchildren, Lucas, Leo, Olivia, Ollie, Parker, and Jarrod (Krista), and a great-grandson, Oliver; and a special “adopted grandson,” Josh who lived with and helped care for Judy.

In her younger years, Judy had special memories with her mother taking the bus downtown for egg salad sandwiches before going to the movies. She also loved dancing with her Uncle Dave and Uncle Moe and hanging out with her Aunt Toby at the Club Normandy.

For more than 25 years, Judith dedicated herself to her community, working as an administrative assistant for Prudential, Associates and Trustcorp, and built many dear friends during our career. Her commitment to her faith was evident through her active involvement at St. Monica’s Catholic Church, where she volunteered at Bingo events, served as a Eucharist minister, and assisted with counting money. In her leisure moments, she found joy in cooking Lebanese cuisine at home, indulging in her favorite television shows, cheering on her Chicago Bears and Cubs, and Notre Dame Women’s Basketball, reading, and playing computer games. However, her greatest pleasures came from cheering on her children and grandchildren at their sporting events, including the “Wild Bunch” defense of ’84-’86, and cherishing quality time with her beloved family, including sharing news and gossip she had overheard from the community.

A time to honor and remember her life is scheduled for April 4th, from 10-11am, with a Mass at 11am at St. Monica’s Catholic Church. Fr. Jason Freiburger will officiate. Cremation will take place following the service with burial at Fairview Cemetery at a later date.
