Kenneth “Ken” Reeves, 70, of Mishawaka entered eternal rest on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at home. He was born on September 16, 1954, in Niagara Falls, NY to the late Francis B. and Louise (Wilhelm) Reeves. He later married Judith “Judy” Ann, who preceded him in death in 2011.
Ken is survived by a son, Chris (Danielle) Reeves of South Bend, grandchildren Jared and Christine Reeves, and a brother, Corey Reeves of Springfield, MO. Along with his parents, and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Karen Reeves.
Ken dedicated over 45 years of his career as a millwright for Unifrax in New Carlisle, where he was respected for his knowledge and experience, helping others with both skill and precision. Beyond his work, Ken enjoyed visiting local restaurants, volunteering as a "chain man" at Marian High School football games, and embracing his playful side as a notorious prankster, always finding ways to make people smile. Ken also had a special passion for lighthouses, caring for them whenever he could in both repair and upkeep. Above all, Ken had a heart for helping others and was affectionately known as "Gramps" to those closest to him. He cherished time with his family, creating memories that would last a lifetime, and "adopted" countless friends and neighbors as his own, sharing his warmth and kindness with everyone around him.
In accordance with Ken’s wishes, cremation has taken place with a private family gathering scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the National Audubon Society or the Sable Point Lighthouse Keepers Association (SPLKA).
