Lawrence J. “Larry” Rouhselang, 81, of South Bend took his final breath on Saturday, September 14, 2024, with his family by his side. He was born in South Bend, on Jan. 13, 1943, to the late Joseph Rouhselang and Virginia (Kubiak) Tylavsky. He later married Judy Rouhselang.

Surviving is his wife, Shirley, her children, Rhonda (BJ) Knapp, Thomas Lucas, Connie (Jeff) Whitehead, and 11 grandchildren, along with Larry’s children, Sherry (Carl) McKellar of Hot Springs Village, AR, Debbie (Kenny) Watts of Lakeville, and Angela (Mark) Kelly of Warsaw. Larry leaves behind 10 grandchildren, Ryan (Laura), Clinton (Jessica), Kayla, Brice, Partrick, Codi (Braxton), Annamarie, Erika, Nathan (Emily), and Keegan, 12 great-grandchildren, and siblings, Bernie, Georgine, Susanne, George Jr, and Diane. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, and first wife, Judy, a granddaughter, Kayla, and siblings Jim and Mike.

After dedicating 30 years to driving for Preston, Larry retired and embraced a new chapter of life, which allowed him to immerse himself in a range of passions and interests that he had long cherished. Outside of his professional life, Larry had a deep appreciation for the great outdoors. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed shooting sports, finding solace in nature. His love for the outdoors extended to his exploration of antiquing and visiting hobby shops, often leading him down the charming back roads of Mishawaka. However, Larry’s greatest joy came from spending time with his family. He treasured creating meaningful memories with those he held closest to his heart. Whether it was sharing stories, engaging in activities, or simply being together, Larry's family was the center of his happiness and fulfillment.

A time to celebrate a wonderful life is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2024, from 6-7, with a brief service beginning at 7pm at Wells and Cruz Family Funeral Home, Mishawaka. In accordance with Larry’s wishes, cremation has taken place.

In lieu of flowers, and to honor Larry’s life, memorial contributions may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association. To light a virtual candle, share a story of Larry’s life, or offer a message of comfort for his family, please visit the Tribute Tab.
