Leonard Weis, 94, of Mishawaka, passed away Sunday evening, December 16, 2018, at Trail Point Village, South Bend.
Leonard was born August 3, 1924 in Mishawaka, the son of the late Leo and Daisy (Lovell) Weis. He spent most of his life in Mishawaka. From 1943 – 1946, he served his country in the US Army during World War II.
Leonard married Virginia Burner on January 31, 1953 and she preceded him in death on November 27, 2008.
Leonard was employed for 30 years at Dodge Manufacturing and retired in 1982. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where he served as an usher. At one time he belonged to VFW Post #360.
Leonard is survived by his son, John (Jeanell) Weis of South Bend; and two sisters, Leona Wagner of Mishawaka and Elsie (Robert) Doyle of Mishawaka.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Thursday, December 20, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 225 S. Mill Street, Mishawaka, with Rev. Christopher Lapp officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 – 6 pm on Wednesday with the Rosary being prayed at 4 pm in Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, 503 W. 3rd Street, Mishawaka.
