Lillian (Weinkauf) Cook, 94, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2015, at her residence in Anaheim Hills, California.
Lillian was born in Mishawaka, Indiana, on September 25, 1920 to the late Fred & Mary Weinkauf. Her two brothers and their wives, Wilfred (Gertrude) Weinkauf and Elmer (Catherine) Weinkauf both preceded her in death.
Lillian is survived by two sons, Deacon Doug (Sheila) Cook of Anaheim Hills, CA, and Greg (Char) Cook of Stevensville, MI; and five grandchildren, Todd (Lauren) Cook of Anaheim, CA, Troy (Heather) Cook of The Woodlands, TX, Elizabeth (Shawn) Richard of Niles, MI, Stephanie Miller of Lemont, IL, and Jennifer (Dave) Murphy of Plymouth, IN; along with eight great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Lillian was a proud 1938 graduate of Mishawaka High School and a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mishawaka. Until moving to Southern California in 1970, she worked as a secretary for the Wheelabrator Corporation in Mishawaka. In California, she continued to work as a secretary for Wheelabrator and the Hughes Aircraft Co., from which she retired. Living in Oceanside, CA, until after her retirement, she was very active in her church the Old Mission of San Luis Rey.
A Funeral Mass was held in San Antonio de Padua Church in Anaheim Hills, on Saturday, May 16.
In Mishawaka, Services will held at 3 pm on Friday, May 29, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 225 S. Mill Street, with her son, Deacon Doug Cook officiating. A meal will follow at Honker’s Restaurant in Mishawaka.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:30 - 10:30 am on Saturday, May 30, in Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, 503 W. 3rd Street, Mishawaka. A Graveside Service will follow at 11 am on Saturday in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Mishawaka, where she will be buried beside her beloved mother and father.
