Linda L. Kunz, 66, of Mishawaka, passed away early Wednesday morning, January 15, at Brentwood Assisted Living in Niles.
Linda was born September 7, 1947 in Mishawaka, a daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (Prokop) Burns. She lived most of her life in the Mishawaka/South Bend area.
Linda was a 1966 graduate of Mishawaka High School. With honors she earned an Associate’s Degree from Ivy Tech where she was on the Dean’s List several times and was student of the year.
Linda’s employment included Land Auto Sales, Noble Romans Pizza and most recently at First Source Bank.
Linda was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church and Phi Theta Kappa Sorority. She enjoyed roller skating, water and snow skiing, going to garage sales and walking, especially with her grandchildren. Linda loved the holidays and decorating her yard for Christmas. She particularly liked being outdoors and caring for her yard. Linda loved hosting family cook-outs with go-karting in her back yard.
Linda’s family was the center of her life and she is survived by four daughters, Rae Lynn (Christopher) Brough, Rachel Anne (Buddy) Wolfe, Rabecca Marie (Jeanette Sieczko) Nickerson and Robin Suzanne (Wayne Harvey) Nickerson; four grandchildren, Benjamin Nickerson, Karlye Line, Sabrina Line and Nicholas Brough; two step grandchildren, Cory Early and Martina Stark; a brother, Thomas Burns; a sister, Marianne Parker; and many nieces and nephews.
Linda married Kenneth “Kenny†Kunz on May 18, 1991 and he preceded her in death on September 6, 2012. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Tamara Stackman and Bonnie Leng; and a brother, Stephen Burns.
Friends may spend time with Linda’s family Friday, January 17, from 4 - 8 pm in Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, 503 W. 3rd Street, Mishawaka, where a Prayer Service will be held at 7 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, January 18, at 11 am in St. Monica Catholic Church, 222 W. Mishawaka Ave., Mishawaka, with Monsignor Bruce Piechocki officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
Visitation is also in the church Saturday from 10 - 11 am.
