Lois V. Fuller, age 94 of Mishawaka, passed away Sunday, September 3, 2023, at St Paul’s Assisted Living. Lois was born in Kendallville, Indiana on February 15, 1929, to the late Lester L. and Austa (Alheim) Frick. While working at Ball Band in Mishawaka, she met James F. Fuller and they later married on September 6, 1947. Lois and James celebrated 62 years of marriage before James’ passing in 2009.
She is survived by her children James (Nancy) Fuller Jr. of Cottonwood, Arizona, Ruth Ann (Mark) Dauski of Boynton Beach, Florida, Pamela R. (Dave) Freel of Belleview, Florida, and Craig (Nancy) Fuller of South Bend. Surviving as well are her grandchildren Lori (Dan) Mirabella, Michael Fuller, Tyler (Cortney) Fuller and Brittany (Benjamin) Albert and her great grandchildren Daniel “D.J.” Mirabella, Kaitlyn Mirabella, Calliope, Cooper and Collins Fuller. Also surviving are her siblings, Kathryn Elliott of Corpus Christi, Texas and Garnet Mogle of Brownsburg, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her sisters Jeanette Bolding and Sara Lucille “Lucy” Kenaga, her brother Lester Frick Jr., and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 11:30 am-2pm on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at Wells and Cruz Family Funeral Home. Following visitation, Pastor John Ranous of Gospel Center Church will officiate the 2:00pm funeral service. Lois and James will be laid to rest together in Fairview Cemetery A livestream of her service may be viewed in the window below beginning 15 minutes prior to the funeral service.
Lois was employed as a clerk with Goldblatt’s in Mishawaka for over 15 years before taking an early retirement to stay at home and raise her children.
Lois life was a true testament to the joys of a life well-lived. She found immense happiness at the Battell Center, where she engaged in numerous activities, and created cherished memories. Her fun and joyful nature allowed her to make friends easily and she loved spending time with friends, both old and new. Lunch with her girlfriends was a weekly ritual that kept them close and allowed them time to grow closer as a group. Lois also enjoyed shopping and was always in style.
Her faith was an integral part of her life, and Lois was a devoted member of Gospel Center Church. She will be remembered for her excellent home cooking, where she took great delight in preparing delicious meals for her family and friends. Her green thumb was evident in her garden, where she grew fresh vegetables and flowers with a loving touch. As a young woman, Lois enjoyed bowling, showcasing her competitive spirit and determination on the lanes.
More than anything, Lois was a pillar of unwavering love and devotion to her family. She adored her siblings and relished every opportunity to come together for family reunions, strengthening the bonds that held them close. Her love knew no bounds, and she will be remembered as a remarkable wife, mother, grandmother and sister who enriched the lives of those around her with her boundless energy, laughter, and love.
