Lorraine Ann Decloedt

Lorraine Ann DeCloedt, 77, of Mishawaka, passed away Thursday evening, June 16, 2011 in Memorial Hospital, South Bend.

Lorraine was born July 17, 1933 in Chicago, Illinois, a daughter of the late John and Victoria (Garwacki) Weglowski. When she was a young girl she moved with her family to Mishawaka.

On October 9, 1954, Lorraine married Frank J. DeCloedt. The couple made Mishawaka their home.

Lorraine was employed for 35 years with South Bend Medical Foundation. Most of that time was spent as a Lab Technician at Memorial Hospital.

Lorraine was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mishawaka. She enjoyed arts and crafts and particularly sewing. She kept her home immaculate and liked cooking. Frank and Lorraine wintered for many years in Alabama and Florida.

Lorraine’s surviving family includes her son, Jeffrey DeCloedt of Mishawaka; a sister, Nancy (Donald) Nickel of Brooksville, Florida; two brothers, John Weglowski of Brooksville, Florida and Thomas (Pat) Weglowski of Elkhart; and Frank’s family, Raymond (Mary Ann) DeCloedt of Mishawaka, Janet (Rueben) Hodgson of Dowagiac, and Diane DeCloedt of Mishawaka; and many nieces and nephews.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband Frank in 2009; and by Frank’s brother, Richard DeCloedt.

Friends spent time with Lorraine’s family Tuesday, June 21, from 5 - 8 pm in Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, 503 W. 3rd Street, Mishawaka where the Rosary was prayed at 7 pm.

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday, June 22, at 10 am in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 225 S. Mill Street, Mishawaka. Entombment followed at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.

Contributions in Lorraine’s memory may be given to Pet Refuge or St. Joseph Church. Assistance with memorials is available at the funeral home.
