Lucyann Lovas, 88, of Mishawaka, went to be with the Lord, Friday evening, September 20, 2013.
Lucyann was born May 7, 1925 in South Bend, a daughter of the late Joseph and Sophie (Jakubowicz) Lovas. She graduated from South Bend Catholic High School. She has been a long time Mishawaka resident.
Lucyann was employed for 42 years with I & M Electric. She was a member of St. Bavo Catholic Church in Mishawaka. She loved music and enjoyed playing the organ.
Lucyann especially enjoyed spending holidays with her family. She is fondly remembered for her smile and positive outlook. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Lucyann’s surviving family includes her sisters, Evelyn (Stanley) Nowicki and Joan Carrico; a nephew, Greg (Julia) Carrico; nieces, Linda (Ben) Karasiak, Renee (Robert) Kosanovich, Lori (Frank) Ermeti, Diane (Mike) Mayfield and Christina (Christopher) Gregory; sixteen great nieces and nephews; and seven great-great nieces and nephews.
Lucyann was preceded in death by a brother, Erwin Lovas; and a sister, Theresa Sieradzki.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 am in St. Bavo Catholic Church, 502 W. 7th Street, Mishawaka, with Rev. Barry England officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
Lucyann’s family will receive friends Tuesday in the church from 9 - 10 am prior to the Mass.
Memorials are suggested to St. Bavo Church.
