Marcella “Marcie” Baldwin, 89, of Mishawaka, passed away Tuesday evening, April 8, 2014, at Sprenger Health Care.
Marcie was the last survivor of ten children born to John and Mary (Valholsbeke) Deitchley. Six brothers and three sisters preceded her in death. Her husband, George, and her son, Dennis, also preceded her in death.
Marcie is survived by two grandsons, Brent (Elizabeth) Baldwin of Saline, Michigan and Christopher (Nancy) Baldwin of Westfield, Indiana; seven great grandchildren, Ally, Sam, Ashley, Sydney, Garrett, Maria and Brady; her much loved daughter-in-law, Beverly (Philip) Teegarden of Elkhart; her trusted friend and neighbor, Shirley; and nieces and nephews.
Marcie graduated from Mishawaka High School and was a member of the Mishawaka Alumni Association.
Marcie retired from Osco after twenty years of employment. At one time she and her late husband, George, owned and operated the Town Club in Elkhart.
Marcie was a long time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mishawaka She enjoyed watching sports on television; especially the Cubs, Bears and University of Notre Dame.
Marcie’s family would like to thank the compassionate staff at Memorial Heart & Vascular Center as well as the staff at Sprenger Health Care for the great care she received.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Tuesday, April 15, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 225 S. Mill Street, Mishawaka, with Rev. Terry Fisher officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Friends may spend time with Marcie’s family from 4 – 7 pm on Monday in Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, 503 W. 3rd Street, Mishawaka.
Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic Church. Assistance with memorials is available at the funeral home.
