Marcelle F. “Jerry” Hesch, 88, of Mishawaka, passed away Saturday, September 15, 2012, in her home.

Jerry was born November 14, 1923 in Mishawaka, the daughter of A. Franklin and Clara (Koop) Lowell. She was preceded in death by her father in 1943; her step father, Morris Phillips, in 1984; and her mother in 1991.

Jerry graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1942. In 1944 she married Joseph Gall in Paris, Texas, where he was stationed in the US Army. Joe passed away in 1967.

Jerry is survived by a son, John Patrick (Starr) Gall of Mishawaka and one grandchild, Chandra Gall of Naples, Florida.

In 1974, Jerry married Roland “Rollie” Hesch. They enjoyed traveling around the United States and abroad. They purchased a home in Winter Haven, Florida and spent six months of the year there in the winter. Rollie passed away in 1994.

Jerry is also survived by six step children; many step grandchildren; a step sister and step niece.

During her working years, Jerry was employed at Ball Band, First National Bank (now First Source), Portage Realty, and retired from Boger, Martin and Fairchild Advertising Agency in 1976. All of her jobs involved bookkeeping and accounting.

Jerry was a member of St. Bavo Catholic Church. During the years she was married to Joe Gall she belonged to the FOP Auxiliary and served several terms as president. Jerry was a Chicago Cubs and Bears fan, loved music, golfing and line dancing.

Friends may spend time with Jerry’s family Monday, September 17, from 5 - 8 pm in Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, 503 W. 3rd Street, Mishawaka.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 am in St. Bavo Catholic Church, Mishawaka, with Rev. Barry England officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Harbor Light Hospice. Assistance with memorials is available through the funeral home.
