Marjorie “Marj” Evelyn Scheibelhut, 92, of Mishawaka, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2013, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend.

Marj was born November 22, 1920 in Mishawaka, a daughter of the late Floyd and Clara (Biltz) Fore. She grew up in Mishawaka and was a graduate of Mishawaka High School.

On May 17, 1941 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka, Marjorie married Leo Charles Scheibelhut. The couple made Mishawaka their home.

Marj was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and baking. She was a charter member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church where she belonged to the Rosary Society, Ladies Circle and helped with many fundraisers, dinners and activities. Marj bowled on a league at OC Lanes and golfed on a league at Eberhart Petro Golf Course. She kept busy with making bookmarks and crafts. Marj enjoyed traveling and especially summers in northern Minnesota. Her family has fond memories of the special Christmas Eve gatherings she would host each year.

Marjorie’s family was the center of her life. Those surviving her include three children, Barbara (Ron) Armour of Granger, Charles M. (Linda) Scheibelhut of Mishawaka and Kathryn (David) Ernst of Mishawaka; a sister, Joyce Braun of Redlands, California; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Leo; a son, Dennis; and sisters, Dorothy Miner and Bobbie Lou Fras.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, September 16, at 10:30 am in Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 4508 Vistula Road, Mishawaka, with Rev. John Eze officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.

Friends may spend time with Marjorie’s family Sunday, September 15, from 2 - 5 pm in Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, 503 W. 3rd Street, Mishawaka, where the Rosary will be prayed at 5 pm. Visitation will also be at the church Monday from 9:30 - 10:30 am.

Memorials are suggested to Queen of Peace Church. Assistance with memorials is available at the funeral home.
