Mary Jo Stabrowski, 74, of River Woods, Illinois, and formerly of Mishawaka, passed away Friday, December 12, 2014, in Advocate Condell Medical Center, Libertyville, Illinois.
Mary Jo was born August 23, 1940 in Mishawaka, a daughter of the late Walter and Josephine (Kwasny) Stabrowski. She grew up in Mishawaka where she graduated from St. Joseph Grade School. Mary Jo graduated from St. Joseph High School in South Bend.
Mary Jo moved to Illinois in 1961. She was part owner and involved in management with a Data Processing business in Glenview, Illinois. Mary Jo was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wheeling, Illinois and the Polish National Alliance 83 Club in South Bend. She was an avid Chicago Bears fan.
Mary Jo’s surviving family includes two brothers, Brother Donald Stabrowski of Notre Dame, Indiana, and Lawrence (Ruby) Stabrowski of Florence, Arizona; an aunt, Elizabeth Gillen of Mishawaka; and she was a fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Mary Jo was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter Stabrowski, Jr., and Gerald Stabrowski; and a sister, Paula Jones.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, December 22, at 11 am in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 225 S. Mill Street, Mishawaka, with Rev. Mark Thesing, CSC, officiating. Private burial will take place in the family plot at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Mishawaka.
Contributions in Mary Jo’s memory are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka.
