Michael G. Regan, 52, of South Bend passed away at home on Tuesday, August 10, 2021. He died of natural causes following complications from a recent quadruple bypass.
Michael was born November 27, 1968 in South Bend to Brian C. and Sharon J. (Strametz) Regan. He attended Muessel Elementary School and was a graduate of St. Joseph High School in South Bend. Mike attended Bethel College where he was Student Manager for the National Championship Basketball Team. He also attended the Culinary Institute at Ivy Tech.
Mike worked in the food industry including Morris Park Country Club and Morris Inn at University of Notre Dame. He was strong in his Catholic faith. He was a sports fan, especially of Notre Dame, Chicago White Sox and Cubs and Seattle Seahawks. Sports and food were his favorite passions.
Mike is survived by his children, Elizabeth and Alex Regan; his father and stepmother, Colonel Brian C. Regan, USMC, (Ret) and Kathleen Beeler; his brother, Douglas Regan and his wife Kathy Brock; his sister, Christy Heck and her husband, Terry; nieces, Maggie, Katie and Abby; and Mike’s former wife and friend, Debbie Regan.
Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon in 1996.
Visitation will be held from 3 – 5 pm on Sunday, August 15, in Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, 503 W. 3rd Street, Mishawaka.
A private family Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Log Chapel at University of Notre Dame, with Rev. Paul Doyle, CSC, officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
