Mildred “Millie” (Emenaker) Kleiser, 101, a life-long resident of Mishawaka, passed away, Friday, March 16, 2018.
Millie was born December 9, 1916 in Mishawaka to the late John and Dorothy (Horning) Emenaker. She married Robert G. Kleiser on May 31, 1937 and he preceded her in death on October 15, 1980.
Millie was a homemaker, raising seven daughters. They survive and include, Joanne (Nick) Rees of San Antonio, Texas, Judie McGlinchey of Port Charlotte, Florida, Michele Foster of South Bend, Pat Buffington of Houston, Texas, Barb (Phil) Stillson of Elkhart, Paula (Denny) Fields of Niles and Beki (Mark) Paulus of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Also surviving are her 13 grandchildren, Kevin Rees, Diane Flack, Jeff McGlinchey, Rick McGlinchey, Bryan (Stephanie) Foster, Brad (Whitney) Foster, Kristin (Chuey) Mata, Kathryn Manahan, Rick (Amy) Buffington, Carrie (T.J.) Repaich, Jenni Stillson, Eric Paulus and Jason Paulus; and 15 great grandchildren.
Besides her husband, Millie was also preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters.
Millie was an active member of St. Monica Parish and St. Vincent DePaul Society. She was a past member of The Fireman’s Auxiliary and The Quilters Club. Millie enjoyed playing cards with her Euchre friends, watching her soaps, was a Notre Dame Football fan, loved traveling and worked the election polls until she was 93 years old.
Millie will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Thursday, March 22, in St. Monica Catholic Church, 222 W. Mishawaka, Ave., Mishawaka, with Rev. Jacob Meyer officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Fairview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 – 7 pm on Wednesday in Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, 503 W. 3rd Street, Mishawaka, and also from 9:30 – 10:30 am Thursday in church.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society or St. Monica Parish.
