Miller O. Dermott, 75 of South Bend, passed away Thursday, August 23, 2018 in Memorial Hospital.
Miller was born August 13, 1943 in Rockford, Illinois, a son of the late Olon and Mary (Musser) Dermott. He grew up in Nappanee and was a graduate of Nappanee High School.
On June 18, 1966, Miller married Jane A. Wallace. They lived in Nappanee and Bremen before moving to South Bend in 2000.
Miller was a cabinet maker and managed the cabinet shop at Champion RV in Elkhart and later was employed at Bremtown Kitchens in Bremen. He attended Granger Community Church and is remembered for being a hard worker.
Miller’s surviving family includes his wife of 52 years, Jane; a son, Brent (Amy) Dermott of Aurora, Illinois; a daughter, Brenda (Jason) Fischer of Granger; a brother, Jacob (Terry) Dermott of Nappanee; five grandchildren, Faith, Hope and Joy Dermott, and Caleb and Chloe Fischer; and one great granddaughter, Kenna Mai.
Services honoring the life and faith of Miller Dermott will be held at 11 am Tuesday, August 28, in Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, 503 W. 3rd Street, Mishawaka, with Rev. Bill Howell officiating. Burial will follow at Bremen Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 – 8 pm Monday and 10:30 – 11:00 am Tuesday in the funeral home.
