Patricia L. Kizer, 84, of South Bend, passed away Sunday afternoon, June 22, 2014, in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka.
Pat was born July 1, 1929 in Mishawaka, a daughter of the late Harry and Velma (Gridley) Dundon. She was a 1947 graduate of Mishawaka High School.
On August 18, 1952 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka, Pat married Daniel M. Kizer who preceded her in death in 1976.
Pat is survived by two daughters, Becky Kizer and Amy (John) Belke; two sons, Lance (Mary) Kizer and Tim (Lois) Kizer; four grandchildren, Randy Kizer, Rachel (Paul) Nurkkala, Eleanor Belke and Emma Belke; and a sister, Ellen Wells.
Besides her husband, Dan; Pat was also preceded in death by three sisters, Phyllis Korn, Dorothy Ganser and Barbara Jean Vaerewyck.
Pat was a lifetime artist. She worked at Dill Camera Shop, printing photographs. She was a pastel landscape and portrait artist and substitute art teacher at Forever Learning Institute. Pat loved children and babysat for several of the neighborhood children. She always looked forward to the Notre Dame Football season. But her greatest joy in life was being a wife, mother and grandmother.
Pat was a member St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mishawaka.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 am Saturday, June 28, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 225 S. Mill Street, Mishawaka, with Rev. Terry Fisher officiating. Private burial will take place in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
Visitation with Pat’s family will be from 9:00 - 10:30 am Saturday in Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, 503 W. 3rd Street, Mishawaka.
