Patricia “Patty” R. McIntee, 87, of Mishawaka passed away at the Sanctuary at St. Paul’s on December 29, 2020.
Patty was born February 16, 1933 in Mishawaka. She attended St. Monica Grade School and graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1951.
On October 31, 1953, Patty married J. Patrick “Pat” McIntee. The couple made Mishawaka their home.
For approximately one year, before the demands of raising a family intervened, Patty worked as a service representative for Indiana Bell Company. She was a skilled seamstress, creating many attractive outfits for herself and her daughter. Her sewing skill may have been exceeded by her cooking ability, but her true love was creating beautiful floral wreaths. Patty made a variety of colorful designs and marketed her creations throughout the Michiana area. Her artistic flare was evident in the prevailing quality of her home furnishings.
For nearly 40 years of their 67 years of married life, Patty and Pat maintained a residential rental business. One of her favorite activities was a trip to Europe, namely Ireland and England. She also visited Mexico and Puerto Rico. Winter trips were to ski areas in Colorado, New Mexico, Virginia and Michigan. Ice skating and skiing were favorite winter sports. Summers were spent at the vacation home at Long Lake, Three Rivers, Michigan.
Patty was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mishawaka. She loved Halloween and so much so that Pat and Patty were married on Halloween.
Patty is survived by her husband, Pat; five children, Timothy (Sherri) McIntee, Christine McIntee, Thomas “Kelly” (Tammie) McIntee, Brian (Lori) McIntee and Colin “Coley” (Peggy) McIntee; eleven grandchildren, Malia Probst, Killian Probst, Keenan Probst, Sheehan Probst, Alexis McIntee, Ally McIntee, Cullen McIntee, Elizabeth Eull, Shanley McIntee, Aidan McIntee and Sydney McIntee; five great grandchildren, Jullian Cruz-McIntee, Findley Eull, Sawyer Eull, Nolan Eull and Felix Probst; and a sister, Ann Marie Robinson.
Patty was preceded in death by an infant son, B. Michael McIntee; brother, Tom Malia; her parents, Howard and Charlotte (Raab) Malia; and step-father, Erhart Strohm.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, April 23, in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka, with Rev. Christopher Lapp officiating.
