Ranae A. Graves, 52, of South Bend, went home to be with her Lord in her home on Sunday, September 7, 2014.
Ranae was born August 25, 1962 in Tomahawk, Wisconsin, a daughter of the late Mayford “Jerry†and Beulah “Bea†(Barr) Lange. She moved with her family to the South Bend/Mishawaka area in 1978.
On April 12, 1980, Ranae married Rick Graves. They owned and operated businesses in Houston, Texas, until 1985 when they sold their businesses and pursued the ministry. Rick and Ranae served churches in Nappanee, Indiana; Paris, Illinois; St. Louis, Missouri; and Elkhart, Indiana. In 1999 they founded Grace Community Church in Mishawaka.
Ranae is fondly remembered for being a godly woman, her sense of humor and wonderful laugh. Most of all the joy of her life was her children. Ranae was known for her delicious cheesecakes, her love for music and was an Elvis Presley fan.
Ranae’s surviving family includes her husband of 34 years, Rick; a daughter, Janell (Mitch) Miller; a son, Joel Graves; and three sisters, Rosemary (Ed) Pierce, Sylvia (Randy) Graves and Patricia Ann (Larry) Christian.
Besides her parents, Ranae was also preceded in death by a brother, Guy Jerome Lange; and sister, Linda Shull.
Services honoring Ranae’s life and faith will be held Friday, September 12, at 7 pm at Grace Community Church, 4001 Lincolnway East, Mishawaka. Private family burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
A time of visitation will be on Thursday from 6 - 9 pm and Friday from 6 - 7 pm at Grace Community Church.
