Richard C. Doetsch, 98, of Noblesville, Indiana and formerly of Granger and Austin, Texas, passed away Thursday afternoon, September 27, 2012, in the home of his daughter, Beverly.

Dick was born June 6, 1914 in South Bend, a son of the late Bernard and Hazel (Robinson) Doetsch. He grew up in South Bend, moved to Austin, TX in 1957, to Granger in 2009 and to Noblesville in 2010.

Dick was employed for 31 years at Hall Level in Austin where he was a foreman. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Saengruden Club and the Eagles Lodge. Over the years he was active with Boy Scouts. He loved country music, especially Willie Nelson.

Dick was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Mary “Jean” Doetsch; four brothers, John, Bernard, Robert and Donald Doetsch; a sister, Helen Ziel; a step son, Gordon B. Canon; and a great grandchild.

Dick’s surviving family includes seven children he had with his former late wife, Dorothy: Jacquelyn Smith of Goshen, Beverly (Don) Quimby of Noblesville, Sandra (Harold) Swiatowy of South Bend, Sharon (Kent) Hoover of South Dakota, Janice (Harvey) Oltmanns of Iowa, Edward Doetsch of Mishawaka and Dorothy (George) Kline of Texas. Other family includes a step daughter, Sharon (James) Norris of Texas; two sisters, Marie Cook of South Bend and Carolyn (Walter) Kaczmarek of Florida; many grandchildren, many great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.

Friends may spend time with Dick’s family Wednesday, October 3, from 10 am to 12 noon in Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, 503 W. 3rd Street, Mishawaka. Services will take place at 12 noon. Private burial will take place at a later date in Texas.
