Robert A. Mahler, 74, of Mishawaka, passed away early Friday morning, February 7, 2014, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend.

Bob was born November 2, 1939 in Mishawaka, a son of the late Martin and Clara (Snyder) Mahler. He graduated from Mishawaka High School and served his country in the US Army.

Bob lived most of his life in the same home. He was employed for many years as a CNC Programmer at Superior Piece Parts in Mishawaka. He attended St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church in South Bend. He was a member of the NRA and enjoyed hunting and photography.

Bob’s surviving family includes a sister, Betty Lewis of Mishawaka; and nieces and nephews, Diane (Tom) DeLong, Susan (Bill) Becker, Edward (Patricia) Lewis, Karen (Yareb) Yazback, Carol Burkhart, Brenda Murray, Ellen (Keith) Sims and William (Cheryl) Hoffman.

Bob was preceded in death by a brother, Martin “Dick” Mahler; and two sisters, Rosalee Mahler and Marguerite Colley.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, February 11, at 10 am in St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church, 2114 E. Jefferson Blvd., South Bend, with Rev. David Ruppert officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.

Friends may spend time with Bob’s family Monday from 5 - 7 pm in Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, 503 W. 3rd Street, Mishawaka, and Tuesday from 9 - 10 am in the church.

Contributions in Bob’s memory are suggested to St. Anthony de Padua Church.
