Robert "Mr. Bob" Jackson Sr.

Robert “Mr. Bob” Jackson Sr., age 84 of South Bend, passed away at Countryside Meadows in Avon, Indiana on March 20, 2025. Robert was born May 9, 1940, in South Bend, Indiana. Bob served honorably in the US Air Force during the Korean War era and was honorably discharged in 1961. Robert was employed for many years with the South Bend School Corporation as a bus driver before his retirement.

He leaves to cherish his memory his children Nila Jackson of South Bend, Robert Jackson Jr. of Loganville, Georgia, Tiffany Winthrop and Tawana Jackson, both of South Bend, and Leslie Burks of Fort Wayne. Surviving as well are his grandchildren Tanika Clarke of Greenwood, Indiana, Trevon Olive of Fort Wayne, Ashlee Pittman of South Bend, Quila Hedgecock of Fort Wayne, Robert Jackson III of Indianapolis, and Honor Presswood of South Bend, along with his great grandchildren Quanya Heard, Quincy Heard Jr., TyJhorn Heard, Jackson Clark, Nila Franklin, and Tatum Hedgecock. Robert is also survived by his siblings, Betty Smiley of South Bend and Verly Sangster of Aurora, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his wife, Andrea “Cookie” (Boyking) Jackson, his mother, Pearlie Mae (Greer) Lowe, his grandmother Mamie Howard, and his grandson Brandon Phillips.

Following Robert’s wishes, there will be no formal services. Wells and Cruz Family Funeral Home and Cremation Care has been entrusted with his arrangements.

He will be remembered fondly as a loving father, brother, and grandfather to all.
