Roger E. Pierardt

Roger E. Pierardt, 86, of Mishawaka, passed away Wednesday evening, September 21, 2011 in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center.
Roger was born June 23, 1925 in Zomergem, Belgium, a son of the late Gustave and Marie (Bauwens) Pierardt. He grew up in Belgium and came to the United States in 1950.
On January 14, 1950, Roger married Fernanda G. Pauwels in St. Bavo Catholic Church, Mishawaka. The couple made Mishawaka their home. In retirement they enjoyed wintering in Fort Myers, Florida.
Roger was a self employed contractor doing remodeling and additions on homes. He also built several homes. Roger was a member of St. Bavo Catholic Church and the BK Club in Mishawaka. He enjoyed bike riding, fishing, vegetable gardening and caring for his yard.
Roger’s surviving family includes his two daughters, Vivian (Joseph) Bowen of Elkhart and Monique (Patrick) Trippel of Crown Point; a brother, Andre Pierardt of Belgium; four grandchildren, Catherine (Michael) Wohlford, Lee Bowen, Sean Trippel and Sonya Trippel; and a great granddaughter, Lauren Wohlford.
Roger was preceded in death by his wife, Fernanda, who passed away in 2009.
A Memorial Service will be held Monday, September 26, at 1 pm in Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, 503 W. 3rd Street, Mishawaka, with Rev. Barry England officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
