Rosalie (Doyle) Siri, 84, of Mishawaka, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2017, in her home.
Rosalie was born September 24, 1932 in Baltimore, Maryland, a daughter of the late John Andrew and Anna (Stone) Doyle. She graduated from Western High School (an all-girls school).
Rosalie married William Siri on June 1, 1951 in Baltimore. Rosalie worked for the military in Aberdeen, Maryland before the family moved to Indiana in 1953. Over the years they lived in South Bend, Nappanee and Mishawaka.
Rosalie’s employment since living in Indiana included working in several departments at the University of Notre Dame and from 1968 to 1978 as the school secretary at St. Jude Catholic Grade School in South Bend.
Rosalie was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Mishawaka. For many years she belonged to St. Vincent DePaul Society and volunteered for 17 years at St. Joseph Hospital in Mishawaka.
Rosalie’s surviving family includes three sons, Raymond (Barbara) Siri and their family, Christine, David (Jessica), Amber (Matthew) and Michael; Andrew (Brenda) Siri and their family, Matthew, Peter (Jessica), Grace, John, David, Stephen, Ben and Elisabeth; Richard (Linda) Siri and their family, Richard (Stacey) Noah, Micah, Rebekah, Scott (Staci), Abby, Nathan, Joe, Robert (Michelle), Ella, Morgan, Owen and Heather (Jason Six), Audrey, Layla, Julian, Nolan, Douglas and Leland; one daughter, Janet Siri and her family, Jill (Adam Good), Lucas and Olivia; and a sister, Betty Grodnitzky.
Rosalie was preceded in death in 2014 by her husband, Bill, after 63 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Wolfgang.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, January 17, at 10:30 am in Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 4508 Vistula Road, Mishawaka, with Rev. John Eze officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
Visitation will be Monday, January 16, from 4 – 7 pm in Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, 503 W. 3rd Street, Mishawaka, where the Rosary will be prayed at 7 pm. Visitation is also Tuesday from 9:30 – 10:30 am in the church.
Memorials are suggested to St. Vincent DePaul Society or Wounded Warrior Project. Assistance with memorials is available through the funeral home.
