Sandra L. “Sandy†Dwyer, 66, of Mishawaka, passed away Saturday morning, February 22, 2014, at Rivercrest Specialty Hospital.
Sandy was born May 4, 1947 in Gary, Indiana, a daughter of the late James and Angela (McGlinchy) Wulle. She attended St. Mark’s Grade School in Gary before her family moved to South Bend in 1955. Sandy graduated from St. Anthony de Padua Grade School and St. Joseph High School. She attended St. Mary’s College.
Sandy married Bruce M. Dwyer on July 29, 1972 in St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church, South Bend. The couple lived for a short time in South Bend before moving to Mishawaka; building the first home in Blair Hills.
Sandy was a homemaker. In her earlier years she worked at WRBR Radio and at Corvilla Inc. Sandy and her husband Bruce owned and operated Eve’s Coffee Shop in Mishawaka. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mishawaka.
Sandy’s surviving family includes her two children, Meghan (Sam) Miller of Goshen and Nicholas (Tamra) Dwyer of Trenton, Georgia; her brother, Greg Wulle of South Bend; six grandchildren, Eva Dwyer, Dylan Dwyer, Jaxon Miller, Abigail Dwyer, Xavier Miller and Baylor Miller; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Voorde; nephews and nieces, Gregory Premo, James Christopher Premo, Pat Dwyer, Jim Dwyer, Tim Dwyer, Amy Crites, Kate Dwyer, Katherine Barbian, Edward Voorde, Jr., and Michael Voorde; her “second sisterâ€, Maria Andrews; and Sandy’s beloved dogs, Sampson and Lieben.
Sandy was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce in 2006; and by her sister, Diane Premo.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 am in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 225 S. Mill Street, Mishawaka, with Rev. Terry Fisher officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, South Bend.
Friends may spend time with Sandy’s family Tuesday from 4 - 7 pm in Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, 503 W. 3rd Street, Mishawaka, where the Rosary will be prayed at 5 pm.
