**Sarah's funeral service will begin live streaming at 5:50pm Eastern Standard Time***
Sarah Marie Ulrich, beloved Wife, Mother, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, and friend battled epilepsy for many years, and it, unfortunately, took her from us too soon. She went home to her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at the age of 41. Sarah was born on April 13, 1981, in Mishawaka, Indiana. She was a graduate of St. Joseph High School, class of 2000, where she excelled at Basketball. Her love for sports continued throughout her life. Sarah has passed on her skills to young athletes of all ages as a coach and referee. Sarah gave back to the community by coaching many different sports throughout the years.
On April 4, 2019, she married her best friend and the love of her life, Larry Ulrich, becoming not only a wife, but also a loving mother to his children, Olivia and Lucas. Sarah is also survived by her mother Deborah (David) Walorski of South Bend, her father, David Jr. (Tammy) Sklorenko of McCordsville, Indiana, her brother David III (Carla) Sklorenko of Fishers, Indiana, and their children David IV, Charles, Benjamin, and Alexandra, and her sister Melissa (Doug) Vervaet of Granger and their children Henry and Emily. Surviving, as well, are her paternal grandparents David Sr. and Sharon Sklorenko of Mishawaka, her husband’s grandmother, Connie Davis of Mishawaka, her closest friend of several years, Galyn (Jason) Young and their children Milah, Garon, and Nolan, her dogs “Thunder” and “Rusty,” and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended members of the family. Spending time with these people is what meant the most to Sarah, especially Lucas and Olivia.
Sarah was employed for over 19 years as a Pharmacy Technician. Later, she took a position at Wnek Family Orthodontics as front office manager, using her organizational skills and compassion for others to excel at her position.
In her spare time, Sarah enjoyed traveling and volunteering for her kids’ sports teams, playing volleyball, and competing in local and state dart leagues and tournaments. She was also an avid sports fan. She often cheered for the Chicago Cubs, Purdue Boilermakers, and Notre Dame Fighting Irish. She loved to work out and enjoyed spending time at Burn Boot Camp in Granger. She ran multiple marathons throughout her life, including the Chicago Marathon and the Marine Corps Marathon.
Sarah spent many years as a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Granger where she was always willing to volunteer her time coaching sports, serving on the school athletic board, and teaching Vacation Bible School. She and Larry currently attend New Life Church in Osceola.
She also loved to travel, especially to Hawaii, spending time on the beach soaking up the sun and going on cruises.
Sarah was always a big kid at heart; her huge smile, bubbly disposition, competitive nature, natural athletic ability, and willingness to help anyone in need will be deeply missed. Sarah knew the true meaning of the Hawaiian word “Ohana” (translation, “Family”) and lived out its meaning daily through the love she had for those she knew.
Sarah will live on in the memories of those who love her and through the lives she saved as an organ donor. Because of her selfless act of kindness, Sarah has granted four Christmas miracles and improved the lives of many others. Thanks to her generosity these families will celebrate many more holidays.
