Sister M. Barbara Cison

Sister M. Barbara (Stella) Cison, O.S.F., 89, of the Sisters of St. Francis in Mishawaka, passed away Sunday.
Stella was one of thirteen children born to Joseph and Antoinette (Skupien) Cison, Jr. in Hammond.
Sister Barbara received her Bachelor of Arts from Saint Francis College, her Master of Arts from the University of Notre Dame and PhD in languages from Fordham University. She taught at St. Francis College in Fort Wayne and served a period as Academic Dean. Sister Barbara also taught at Marian High School in Mishawaka and Bishop Luers High School in Fort Wayne.
Sister Barbara is survived by a sister, Josephine Szyp of Rockford, Illinois.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday, September 1, at 11 am in St. Francis Convent, Mishawaka. Burial followed in St. Francis Cemetery.
Arrangements were in the care of Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, Mishawaka.
