Thomas Daniel Kelley, 77, of Granger, passed away early Wednesday morning, April 22, 2015, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend.

Tom was born March 14, 1938 in Mishawaka, a son of the late William and Estelle (McHugh) Kelley. He mostly grew up in the Mishawaka area and was a graduate of Washington Clay High School. He served his country in the US Navy from 1956 - 1960.

Tom married Everdine “Dee” Derksen on July 11, 1959 in St. Pius X Catholic Church, Granger. They made Granger their home.

Tom was a dairy and crop farmer owning Kelley’s Dairy Farm. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Granger and Knights of Columbus Council # 1878 in Mishawaka. Tom enjoyed hunting and vegetable gardening. He was an avid Notre Dame Football fan.

Tom’s surviving family includes his wife of over 55 years, Dee; twin daughters, Marilyn (Steve) Mueller of Hunterstown and Carolyn (Dave) Peppler of Ft. Wayne; a son, Kenneth Kelley of Granger; nine grandchildren, Kelley (Daniel) Lambert, Ashley Mueller, T.J. Mueller, Julie Mueller, Nicklos Peppler, Benjamin (Jenny) Peppler, Daniel Peppler, Angela Peppler and Maria (David) Andrews; a brother, John (Hazel) Kelley; and four sisters, Rosemary Bressler, Barbara (Burton) Toepp, Sharon Winas and Mary Helen Vest.

Tom was preceded in death by a brother, William F. Kelley.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Monday, April 27, 2015, in St. Pius X Catholic Church, 52553 Fir Road, Granger, with Monsignor William Schooler officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.

Friends may spend time with Tom’s family from 4 - 7 pm on Sunday, April 26, in Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, 503 W. 3rd Street, Mishawaka, where a Vigil Service will take place at 6:30 pm. Visitation is also from 9:30 - 10:30 am on Monday in the church.

Memorials are suggested to St. Pius X Catholic Church.
