Thomas O. Mercer

Thomas O. Mercer, 81, of Wabash, Indiana and formerly of South Bend, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2013, at Autumn Ridge Care Facility in Wabash.
Tom was born June 22, 1932 in South Bend, a son of the late George David and Anna (Kelly) Mercer. He grew up in South Bend. He lived for several years in Gary, Indiana and in recent years lived in Wabash.
Tom served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He was employed at US Steel in Gary.
Survivors include a daughter, Diane; a brother, Ed (Irene) Mercer; and two nieces.
He was preceded in death by an infant sister.
Services will be held Thursday, December 19, at 11 am in Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, 503 W. 3rd Street, Mishawaka, with Pastor John Long officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.
Visitation will be Thursday from 10 - 11 am in the funeral home.
