Wanda C. Valdinocci, 90, of Ocala, Florida, formerly of Mishawaka, passed away on February 10, 2012 in Tuscany House Hospice near Ocala.
Wanda was born July 1, 1921 in Logansport, Indiana, a daughter of the late Vernon and Dollie (Thomas) Bender. She grew up in Mishawaka and was a 1939 graduate of Mishawaka High School. She attended South Bend Beauty School and The College of Commerce.
Wanda married Leo J. Valdinocci on April 25, 1941 in Mishawaka. The couple made Mishawaka their home.
Wanda retired from Indiana Michigan Electric at Twin Branch where she was employed as a secretary. She was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church and the retirees club from I & M. Over the years she enjoyed bowling, sewing and arts and crafts.
Wanda’s surviving family includes her son, Denis Valdinocci and his wife Denise of Ocala; five grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Leo, in 2003.
Services honoring Wanda’s life will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday in Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, 503 W. 3rd Street, Mishawaka, with Monsignor Bruce Piechocki officiating. Private burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.
Visitation will be one hour before services on Wednesday.
