William J. Whitten, Sr., 56, of Mishawaka, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 20, 2021.

Bill was born November 15, 1964 in South Bend, to the late William E. and Darlene A. (Beasecker) Whitten. He grew up in Mishawaka and was a graduate of Mishawaka High School. Bill earned an Associate’s Degree from Holy Cross College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Arkansas State University.

On January 7, 1995, Bill married Catherine “Cami” M. Meier in Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Mishawaka. The couple made Mishawaka their home.

Bill was employed for over 20 years at Kendall Electric where he was warehouse manager. He also worked at Marian High School, assisting in any way that was needed. Bill was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church in Mishawaka. He was a member of Knollwood Country Club. He recently won a Jeep Gladiator named “Spartacus” and just joined the Jeep Wave Club. Bill was a member of the Alumni Association at Arkansas State. He loved golfing and particularly with his son, Will. Bill was a sports fan and especially liked the Bears, Cubs, Black Hawks and Notre Dame football. He was an avid reader and his favorite author was Tom Clancy. Bill was very fond of his Mercedes named “Bennie”. Most of all Bill loved his family and especially enjoyed time with his grandchildren.

Bill is survived by his wife of 26 years, Cami; five children, Cassandra (Kyle) Krumlauf, Becca Whitten, William Whitten, Jr., Caylee Bennett and Caitlyn (Sam) Bennett; and six grandchildren, Riot Krumlauf, Ethan Whitten, Caroline Raney, Charlotte Krumlauf, Ruth Anglin and Kennedi Krumlauf.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am Saturday in St. Monica Catholic Church, 222 W. Mishawaka Ave., Mishawaka, with Rev. Jacob Meyer officiating. Cremation will follow with burial later in Ferrisville Cemetery.

Visitation is from 3 – 7 pm Friday in Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, 503 W 3rd Street, Mishawaka, and from 9:30 – 10:30 am Saturday in church.

Memorials are suggested to Marian High School Football.
